the water is rising
and we're critisizing
through eyes cold as stone
when everythings broken
we stay frozen
and stare at the snow
seemingly bold, blame takes its toll
words freeze as they're exhaled
lost track of time spent wondering why
acceptance has failed

have you seen the sun
these gray skies and long goodbyes
leave memories undone
can we leave our fears behind?
and walk into the light?

leaves are falling and winters calling
we'll soon return home
but these endless road signs
brought closer through phone line
break up all we know
i'm running farther than the eye can see
